Last Day in London - Lunch with Cousins, Tate Britain & St Paul

This morning it was back to St Paul's for one last try & I finally got under the High Dome to see the wonderful masterpieces painted there and the beautiful mosaics on other ceilings. Overlooking the Quire where smaller domes, each contributing to the story of the Creation of the Universe, depicting birds, fish and trees in a frenzy of sparkling squares.

After this, and a bit of a photo fest outside, Laurie and I headed to Peyton & Byrne in Convent Garden for Lunch with our other cousin, Fi. Lunch was a tasty but rather 'safe; chicken pie, however dessert absolutely did not disappoint. It was called 'Lah Di Dah' cake - what a name! - and consisted of a base of chocolate sponge, mounded with chocolate mousse and a rose jelly centre. Almost like a chocolate turkish delight and oh so good. I highly recommend if you're ever in the area.

En Route to Tate Britain - Trafalgar Square

After a great lunch with Fi, the two of us visited Tate Britain too see the Turner Collection, but we had a bit of a wander through the more modern galleries too. I liked some of Turner's pieces, and how he captured movement and light so precisely and accurately. You know how some artists paint and it looks like a photograph? Turner paints and it looks like a movie.

So much going on in this painting; I love it
