Greetings from Windsor

Next stop was London. I stayed with some family near Windsor on the first night and we drove around the village and went to nearby Eton. It was amazing! The castle was quite over the top. How could one family live in such a large place?! At the same time, I loved it - I can't help being partial to the royals.

One thing I never thought would be that different were the houses. Straight-walled, brick & multiple chimneys is slightly different to our weather boarded abodes with porches & large windows back home.  Weird the things you notice.

Another thing that interested me was the almost silly contrast between the lovely historical buildings in the villages, and the very 21st Century businesses that occupied their ground floors. Does McDonalds really have a place in a building centuries old, that really doesn't have anything to do with french fries? Eh - such is life (such is society..).
